Perfidious and powerful player,

Ally and adversary of ambiguity.

Ravaged, it renders all men

Anthropophagi, racing to bite off the

Burden of their own bitter heads.

Enchant me not, tenacious creature!

No more nightly nurturing of the

Seraphic sphere can I take.

Do not draw down, Divine Selene.

Admonish me, oh Aphrodite!

Incited I’ve been by such tender
